About Me

My journey in veterinary medicine started as most peoples do. Ever since I was a young girl, I wanted to be a veterinarian; however, I had a mid-high school crisis that caused me to lose interest in that career path and decided that I would rather be a zookeeper.

I attended University of Wisconsin-River Falls as a Biology major; however, with some nudging from my advisor and a deeper look into the careers within veterinary medicine, I decided to become a Veterinary Technician. I decided to stay in school due to the amazing opportunity to train assistance dogs along with obtaining my Bachelor’s in Animal Science – Companion Animal Emphasis with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. Upon graduation (and with the amazing agreement between River Falls and Madison College), I attended Madison College’s Veterinary Technician program, where I worked in a General Practice along with UW-Madison’s ICU. It is at UW-Madison where I fell in love with critical patient care before the pandemic hit. I was able to complete my schooling online and in person through Madison College and pass my VTNE, after which I promptly moved to Reno, NV where I received my license and started working at Animal Emergency and Specialty Center (AESC). 

While at AESC, I worked along side ER doctors, their Board Certified Surgeon, Veterinary Technician Specialist (ER/CC), and their Animal Physical Therapist, gathering skills in all facets including in-depth ultrasounds.  Following my love of snow, ski instructing, and the mountains led me to move to Salt Lake City. Here I worked at VeG ER for Pets, where I was able to focus my skills in ER medicine while also using my training from the surgeon to help run complicated anesthetic cases. From there I was given the opportunity to help open a VetCo Total Cares as the Lead Technician. As I love educating and training and wanted to enhance my general practice skills, I jumped at the opportunity to develop these skills while I was finishing my Master’s Certificate from University of Missouri-Columbia.

I care deeply about every animal that I take care of and always strive to provide them with top medical care that I would want provided to my own animals. I believe that everyone has something that they can learn from other people and I love sharing the knowledge that I have learned from my years in veterinary medicine as well as learning new things.

Outside of work I love to be outside on my bikes (road and mountain), hiking, camping, and skiing. I am a Level One Alpine PSIA instructor at Solitude – I really do love teaching. If it involves being outside, you can find me there.
